“Genre of the Month” /Monthly Book Projects

          Each month will feature a different “Genre of the Month”. 

Students are encouraged to read books from a variety of genres throughout the school year. 

Your child will be required to read a book from each of the genres for the monthly book projects.

Biography

A story of a person’s life written by another person

Fantasy/Fairy Tale

A story including impossible elements, such as talking animals or magical powers

Fantasy/Fairy Tale Puppet Project

March

Poetry

Verse written to create a response of thought and feeling from the reader.  It often uses rhythm and rhyme

Science Fiction

A story that blends futuristic technology with scientific fact and fiction
